The Scaribis Scramblers Golf Club, a member of the Mid Atlantic Golf Consortium, is a non-profit organization which comprises of amateur golfers. The club was originally formed in 1992 by a group of Tobagonians who resided in the Washington DC, Southern Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. The name Scaribis was coined from a combination of “Scarborough”, the capital of Tobago, and “Scarlet Ibis”, one of the national birds of Trinidad and Tobago. Today, the club comprises of nationals of Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America. The national flags of these countries are presented as a tribute to these members. The club strives to continue providing an environment in which individual members can enjoy the game of golf. |
